Hello, I’m Cary ✿ a UX designer with a background in Visual Art and academia based in NYC.
My background in visual arts, which gives me a sharp eye for composition, design, and color. I have a BFA, MFA and experience working alongside the world’s blue chip artists, helping them turn their ideas into finished works. My background in the arts sets me apart, and can assist you in creating a truly beautiful and unique design.
I taught both at Columbia Univserty and Mass Art, and through teaching specifically, I learned that close listening, empathy, and investment in people's progress are invaluable. As a result, I entered UX to use my problem-solving, critiquing, and ideation skills to help on a grander scale.
Thinking about people, especially those whose background, learning ability, and/or culture differ from mine, has led me to focus on accessibility, inclusion and design justice. My favorite UX quote is "Solve for one, extend to many, " which I aim to do in every project.
